I live in Phoenix and this weekend is Superbowl. It is totally party city here with tons of celebrities and athletes here for the game. Superbowl is such a fun time to throw a party! Here is my Vintage football Superbowl dessert table from last year. The star of the show was the cake made by my forever cake diva Lizzy’s Sweets n’ Treats. Liz is so seriously talented I feel she should have her own show like Cake Boss! Whatever my vision is …she always nails it and exceeds my expectations! I asked for a vintage helmet, jersey and pants.
Isn’t this the most amazing football cake you have ever seen? Look at the details and shading! Liz even put it on a football field. My girl rocks!!
I think we went with the number 65 because that was the year my hubby was born but you didn’t hear that from me. Do you see the stitching around the helmet, numbers and pants just like it was sewn? I tell you this girl is perfection!
I love my antique sideboard so I didn’t want to cover it up. I used this black and white striped runners just like the old football uniform tops. I added my husband’s old football trophies and vintage team pictures that printed off the internet.
Added some football cookies made by Lizzy’s Sweets n’ Treats and football cake pops by my cake pop diva Jen of Heavenly Cake Pops. I’m such a lucky girl to have the same baker friends in my life for over 4 years now!
I didn’t have anything to use for a backdrop so I made the chalkboard subway art. I bought the chalkboard from Home Depot. It comes in a sheet. I added the white frame by simply cutting it to size and using wood glue. Then I added football words in various sizes for the subway art with my chalkboard pen.
It’s all in the details and presentation to take a party from good to WOW! Happy Superbowl Sunday!!
