Milk & Cookies Back To School

I love milk & cookies and love this as a party theme even better! This was an easy theme to do at Madison’s class Kindergarten graduation party. However, this Smart Cookie theme is perfect for BACK TO SCHOOL!!! Madison starts school tomorrow….yes tomorrow August 1st! So super duper early so I’ve been preparing for her return to school for the last month. UGH…..we really don’t get a full summer in Phoenix. I know many of you are preparing for Back to School as well. This easy to do milk & cookies party would be great for just your kiddos, classmates, kids from church or neighborhood kids to celebrate and get excited to return to school.

It all started with the printables! I knew I wanted it to be rustic so I searched online and found the most perfect printables! The Smart Cookie theme printables are by Laura from Eye Candy Events. How cute are they??? The colors and patterns of the printables were perfect!!! I put up a sign up sheet for all the moms to list what cookie they would bring. Our school had a store bought policy and wanted a variety of cookies.

For my contribution of cookies, I turned to my baker partner in crime Liz of Lizzy’s Sweets n’ Treats to make cookies to match Laura’s Smart Cookie printables. She made them perfect as usual! They were a sugar cookie to look like chocolate chip cookies….the glasses with the tape just kills me!  I individually packaged the cookies in a plastic treat bag topped with scrapbook paper and the circle cupcake toppers.

Love these little straw flags that came in the printable package. I just rounded corners with paper cutter rounding tool.

Can you believe I found this ceramic milk jug from Goodwill the morning of party! I ran in to find a cow of some sorts and found this baby! EEEEKKKK! I’m such the lucky girl and it was only $1.00 ~ score!

Can you believe I found that cow milk container as well on my morning of party trip to Goodwill!? Yup….told you I’m a lucky girl. I was just going to use another glass container like the one the chocolate milk is in but I’m loving my cow container! Did you see my cookie frames?? I covered those IKEA frames that you see all over the party world with Cookie Crisp cereal. I don’t know who put those chocolate and white milk cookie frames in the wrong place….let’s just say it was intentional alright??

Also covered a paper mache letter G with the Cookie Crisp cereal. The G’s meaning was dual purpose~ the name of the school was Goddard and they kiddos were Graduating Kindergarten.

When I saw these adorable little plastic jugs with lids at my girls Rebecca and Shannon’s party store…Petite Party Studio~ I knew they would be perfect to put milk in for the kiddos! Petite Party Studio has a brick and mortar store in Gilbert, Arizona but you also can order all their party products online as well!

One of my favorite purchases from Petite Party Studios is their exclusive velcro table runners!! I LOVE THEM! They have runners in white fabric or burlap. On this table I used my white fabric base then you add the ruffles! I just love the many combinations that you can do with this. By being able to change out the ruffles to match any color then these runners can coordinate with any party theme! Also, if you don’t find the exact patterns or colors you want…they will have the ruffles custom made for you. How awesome is that?? I love the mix of cow print, bandana and red checkered ruffles I got from them. Not shown but the ruffles are on both sides so you can use on a traditional tablescape as well. Hello….perfect for Thanksgiving…going to use the burlap base for that one….I digress!

We had an awesome assortment of cookies. As the parents were bringing in the cookies we labeled the Smart Cookie printable food labels with a Sharpie.

This was a very simple table to do with the help of all the parents bringing in the cookies. Madison is in a new school this year so will really miss all the wonderful kids and parents we got to know at our old school. Tomorrow is the first day of school so need to get in gear and do something to mark this monumental occasion! (every occasion is monumental for party planners and a reason for a party….LOL)

BTW, found these Smart Cookie anti-bacterial hand gels at Bath and Body works yesterday. Great to give out as a favors or a Teacher’s gift. Can’t have enough of anti-bacterial gel!!! Hope you got some muses!!!
