Geometric Leather Necklace

I’m super duper excited to be a part of the Cricut Design Space Star Challenge!! Just in case you have no idea what I’m talking about, Cricut is looking for their next designer to create projects for their design space for the Cricut Explore. We are broken up into teams of 10. Cricut has listed the categories for each month…it started last month and will end in December. For August, Cricut’s category is Fashion or Gear. Now your team selects which category then a theme. My team selected Fashion and the theme was a pop of color. To be honest, I wasn’t happy with the selection of Fashion. I am a party blogger and have never made a fashion piece in my life except for ironing on stuff to t-shirts. I thought that has been done a million times so wanted to step outside my comfort zone. I decided to do something modern and use geometric shapes. I looked into the design space and saw these gorgeous geometric shapes from Vintage Revivals! They were perfect! I bought some scrap pieces of leather and used my Cricut Explore to cut the geometric shapes into the leather. YES, LEATHER…..the CRICUT EXPLORE cut leather people!! I was so excited!! I turned up the dial to the highest setting and it cut the leather like butter baby! Easy Peasy!!

I simply added some jewelry links and I actually have a piece of jewelry that I would wear! I’m actually glad now that my team selected fashion. It made me think outside my comfort zone and win or no win…..I love what I made!

You will be so surprised at what this Cricut Explore can cut….and you can create so many amazing things!
