Chalkboard Banner

I am back from my vacation in the Dominican Republic and I have a gazillion DIY projects to complete for Madison’s upcoming Mermaid birthday party next weekend! My head is spinning because as usual I have thought up more DIY projects than I possible can complete in this short time frame but I’m going to give it a valiant effort!! Here is a chalkboard banner that I made. I really wanted to do chalkboard so that this can be used over and over again for any party. I used very thin wood sheet that I found at Home Depot. Then I used my handy dandy Ryobi Jig Saw to cut out triangles. I created a triangle template using cardboard than traced onto wood to ensure each piece was the same. I drilled small holes in the corners for ribbon/twine.  After cutting, I sanded around edges to smooth then painted one side white and the other side used chalkboard paint. It may seem like it so much work but it’s really not! I have made countless banners for all types of themes and stations. This way I can reuse it over and over again.

This time I’m using the banner in Madison’s thank you cards. I think it’s a very cute way to create a more personalized thank you.
